Community Engagement

As the only resident and full-time professional Orchestra in the region, the CSO fills a unique position in the community by offering year-long symphonic concerts with a core group of world-class musicians. Recognizing the importance of engaging in local partnerships and also the potential benefits of providing support to smaller organizations, the Orchestra continues to expand collaborative programs with a variety of performing arts groups. Ranging in size, mission and scope, such examples of collaborative partnerships include Piccolo Spoleto, College of Charleston, Charleston Ballet Theater, CSO Chorus, Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry and more. The CSO is also able to oversee and sustain such diverse subsidiaries such as the CSO Gospel Choir & Spiritual Ensemble.
