Offered each year, these ensembles showcase the families of the orchestra - strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.
Eight small ensembles (string trios & quartets, woodwind quintets, brass quintets and percussion) go into the classrooms throughout the area, performing instrument and group demonstrations.
This type of informal performing experience gives each student an up close and personal view into the life of a professional musician.
Information will be sent to schools at the beginning of the school year. Reservations are first come, first serve. There is no charge to the school.
The YPC's are offered each year to public and private school students from 2nd to 8th grade. Participating schools receive curriculum booklets of the music to be performed, as well as a listening CD. Concerts are open to all elementary & middle schools in the area. Is your child's school currently participating in this enriching program?
This season will feature Magic Circle Mime Company performing Peter and the Wolf with the CSO. Without upsetting the Maestro, three musicians and a conductor’s assistant must outwit a fearsome wolf that threatens orchestra and audience alike. The Magic Circle Mime Company and the CSO bring Prokofiev’s exhilarating muscial tale to life and and will leave you on the edge of your seat!
Young People's Concerts take place at the Gaillard Auditorium and approximately 50 minutes in length. Admission is $3 per student.
