Since the age of eight, Principal Bass Ed Allman has been finding interesting ways to make noise. A student of well-known pedagogue Dr. Lucas Drew, Ed holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music performance from the University of Miami. While there he also pursued studies in composition, and was a founding member of The Other Music Ensemble, a group dedicated to performing the works of living composers.
Now in his fifth season with the CSO, he has been lucky enough to hear his own music performed in a number of settings, including by the U.M. Contemporary Music Ensemble, The Musicians of Ma'alwyck, Chamber Music Charleston, and in recital in New York, Hartford, and Dorset, England.
